BOONE, NC, April 29, 2008 – The Inn at Crestwood is pleased to announce Executive Chef Charles E. Nelson as the latest addition to the inn’s management team. A Marriott and Ritz Carlton veteran, Nelson brings nearly 10 years of hands-on food and beverage experience to the Inn.

In his new role, Nelson will oversee the menu of the Table at Crestwood and will also direct the culinary team's growing number of private events, banquets and group functions.

"We are excited and fortunate to have such an accomplished and innovative chef leading our culinary team," said Mandy Poplin, Director of Operations for the Inn at Crestwood. "His accomplished background and contemporary culinary approach will continue to position the inn as a top dining choice for guests and the local community alike."

Prior to joining The Inn at Crestwood, Nelson served as the executive chef of Storie Street Grille in Blowing Rock, NC. Throughout his career, Nelson has been featured in various publications including Charlotte Weekly, Charlotte Observer, Anonymous Gourmet and Extremechefs.com. Additionally he is a past winner of the Fire on the Rock Chef’s Challenge, Charlotte Taste of the Nation Award and Best Dish in North Carolina.

Nelson received a degree in culinary science from Courdon Bleu in Scottsdale, AZ.
